good evening, lovelies!

Clink! Clink! (that's me toasting all of us for making it this far in 2020) I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving (and that Christmas is in exactly one month)!

So excited to be done with the work week! How about you guys? Anyone else free from the daily grind until Monday rolls back around??

I am looking forward to the extra days off this week to not only stuff my face with deliciousness but to also finish getting things ready for the upcoming Christmas market in December. I have a long list of things that need to be done for the Fox and the Forest booth and think I have figured out a good balance to get most of it done in the next few days.

I also put up our tree last week and dressed up our house (as well as both porches) for Christmas! We will be having Thanksgiving at home alone - it is also our TWENTY ONE year anniversary, and why not have the house be merry and bright a little early?!

I also jusssssst put a poundcake in the oven - my first one ever - and I am hesitant on how it will turn out. It looked like waaaaaay too much batter was in that loaf pan, but we shall see... I grew up in a house where getting one of those Entenmann's pound cakes was a real treat, and on some weekends, mom would slice it and toast it in the oven with butter for breakfast.... I am drooling just a little thinking about this... If all goes well, I want a warm toasted slice with my coffee in the morning!

I got the recipe from a friend who allowed me to copy it from an old southern recipe book..... the recipe is vague and seems a little too easy, which is why I am nervous. Was I supposed to split the batter into two pans? Is this just for one cake? Who knows? I guess we will find out in about an hour and 25 minutes!

I tweaked the recipe a little using 4 sticks of butter (no margarine), gluten free flour, and switched out the lemon extract for vanilla....

annnnnd last but not least, I have had many people message me about when the thrifted fashion posts were coming back (the "worn" segment), and I promise it will be soon. Possibly next month, but for sure I will be ready to do those at least once month when the new year starts. I have had zero motivation to do them mostly because of the weight gain (30 lbs!!!) from my health issues that have now been resolved. Since being fully released from my doc I have been able to get physically active again, am losing weight, and feeling more confident in my own skin. I did have a ton of fun doing those and have missed them dearly myself!

It feels like friday and I am looking forward to waiting up on Christian to get home from work and to sleep in a little tomorrow morning! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and I hope to post a little something tomorrow night!

xoxo
