I give you this. The brand new unused float in my pool (it will be used plenty today!). Maybe I've been busy. Maybe I've been lazy. Maybe I put my hands in too many pots to be able to keep up. I am here. Now. Here is a little recap in pics and a little summary of what my day-to-day has been looking like......
Then I put Eddie's harness on him and we go out into the almost lit morning. He is allowed to take the slowest, most time-consuming walk, with no expectations while he munches on grass, stops to scratch, sits to watch the bunnies, and sometimes leaps to try to catch the one feral cat that roams the farm..... he isn't getting any younger, and I want the rest of his life to be golden....
After Eddie gets walked, then it is Reece's turn. He LOVES going on walks. We muzzle up, harness up, and go out. He is so used to the horses, goats, and chickens, but still gets very excited about the bunnies and the one feral cat on the farm. Then we eat breakfast......
After Reece & breakfast it is time for showering and getting ready for work. Where I literally SIT from 8 - 5 with the exception of my lunch break that is used for a quick trip home to walk and love on the canine boys, both Reece & Eddie love some lunchtime walkin'.....
At 5:01pm each day, I am on the road to home. Our farm. My most favorite place on earth. My place of peace. Yeah I have farm chores, but most of them are like meditation (for me).... Scrubbing water troughs on hot summer evenings is peaceful, and I usually end up playing in the water myself, so that chore turns into cooling off a bit... Walking the dogs isn't so bad at all because most of the walking trails are shaded by the hardwoods and lush greenery we have. It really is like my very own wonderland.
After all is done, and all the goats, horses, chickens, and dogs have been tended to, it is time for lounging and watching the tube. Our most recent binge was 'Fleabag'.
I am SO looking forward to the rest of the long weekend ahead.... Yesterday Eddie and I went on a little drive to visit my mom - he LOVES car rides......
the rest of the weekend holds more little fun things. When you are typically a hermit outside of workdays, it doesn't take much to make ya happy....A few planned things are:
a trip to my favorite antique place...
a few farm visitors
early morning baking! It is like magic! I love taking powders and liquids and concocting something like cinnamon rolls that make your lips curl up at the edges - baking or alchemy?
a little cleaning in the workshop and a little planning on the floor for the front room....
Oddly enough the fireworks last night were at a minimum. The least amount of booms we have ever heard since living here. It was almost a little strange. Anyway, I am off to the shelter to give my boy Cloudi a bath!
