Sunday Funday

Yesterday I had plans to make some final touches on the floor in the workshop, load up my sewing machine and other things for my new little setup there, do my usual 'Sunday service' with Reece, my current project rescue pup, and spend the rest of the day lounging and lazing around with Eddie & Christian.....

All of those things got done with the exception of lounging with Eddie & Christian. I ended up assembling a futon frame I got last year on sale, that had been sitting there in pieces intimidating me for months. This came about when Reece was looking so cozy curled up on the doggy-bed in the shop during the torrential downpour and thunder. I just couldn't wake him and force him out in the rain to go back to the rescue... So I attempted the assembly, and low and behold, it only took about an hour and a half to put it together! Then, he popped up on the futon, as if to tell me he was a good boy and couldn't wait to be in a home where sleeping on a bed/ couch/ futon was a regular thing....

He was so good all day, and what was supposed to be 3 hours turned into 6.5 hours and ZERO accidents. We took a few walks, he slept a LOT, played with his toys (Eddie's retired toys), and then he napped a little bit more on the futon next to me before loading up into the car and heading back...

When I got back it was getting colder, and it was almost time for all the evening chores. There was a cold front coming in, so extra hay needed to be doled out to keep the crew warm through the night. I came in, watched the recorded SNL with Christian and Eddie and then zonked off to dreamland...

It is cold and I am dreading getting dressed and heading out for my three miles, but I know once I get started, I'll be glad I did. Happy Monday y'all! If you know anyone interested in fostering Reece, he is available for foster. He needs a very experienced pibble person with no other pets for the time being as he has a high prey drive and had been in the shelter facility for 15 months, so needs plenty of time to decompress from that.
