autumn ambitions... music, plans, and food dreams

a few of my favorite things when the temps drop.....

.....purging things I haven't used in a year (details on a HUGE sale at the bottom of this post) ~ morning walks in the cool country air with Eddie ~ burning all the brush piles (which I will be doing in about three weeks after the chance of accidentally burning a nest of babies has passed)  ~ going to the county fairs ~ baking ~ soup ~ chili ~ early nights ~  ~ hot biscuits with honey on cool mornings ~ hot chocolate ~ hour long bath soaks with eucalyptus
.....

heh, notice the comfort food of autumn ....which makes it hard when we have been trying to eat better, but with both of our birthdays back to back, it is hard to get off that sugar kick. I have decided to stop the 'sweet stuff Sunday' posts for the time being (to make things a little easier on us), and make it a 'savory stuff Sunday' post through the fall until it is time for Christmas baking..... all the Sunday posts will still be gluten free and *hopefully* delicious AND satisfying so that we can get off this sugar craving kick that the birthday months always put us in!!!

A few of the things I want to try to make the next few Sundays are:

shepherds pie
cheese-it crackers
bagels
french bread
pizza
my very deeeeelicious beef & black bean chili - and YES I WILL share my recipe!!!
chicken & dumplings

...now on to the purging part...

I have been slowly plucking things from my loft/ closet/ workspace/ home office, and man, is it hard parting with some things. I started with a few pieces of clothing, and have steadily been working my way through the books, kitchenwares, and shoes to the point where it now looks worse than ever, but you can see a glimpse of what is to come.....

The yard sale money will be used for various things regarding rescue animals, but most importantly it will go to training the rescue dogs in need! Reece has come a long way with the help of Tricia at Bone-A-Fide Training, I will continue to use her services for him as well as any other dogs in need! If you'd prefer just to make a donation, my Venmo is @frugalfashionablefarmer :)

I have been at least moving the stuff out of the house, and into the soon-to-be workshop/ workspace down the way, on the other end of the property....

This means that in the next few months I will be having either a blog sale (where I will charge a flat fee for shipping), and a shop sale where locals can come rummage through and buy my once cherished goodies. I desperately need the space....

The transition has been ugly at times, but I am so ready for a more streamlined, minimal approach to living.

shoes, dresses, small furniture, desks, lamps, knick-knacks, kitchenwares....

Since I will be around the farm most of the weekend, observing the goats (I am taking in a newbie and want to make sure everyone plays nice), I will take pics of a ton of the stuff I will be getting rid of. If you can come to the farm to pick things up, I will be accepting Venmo, cash, & credit cards!

anyway.... it is getting late, I must feed the animals and of course I get to wake up to the weekly mix that Christian will be putting together soon!

xoxo
