I made a day of it outside today! I started by putting up a temporary fence on the other side of the pasture so that Rose could eat some of that grass, and in turn that would also save me a little money on hay a few days a week if I let her graze there when I was at home. THEN I decided after she was all secured in the little temporary fence, that it wouldn't be that hard for me to cut all the little trees down on the fenceline, clear the privet, and just go for it with a more permanent fence. So, this is what I did..... All photos were taken with the iPhone..I've still been to lazy to get out my nice camera... :)
pulling up old metal t-posts, removing barbed wire, and finding random little hearts.....
Eddie watched me from inside the house.... You see, Eddie is a master at bolting and thinking that me trying to save him from the dangers of being loose in the country is a game...Ol' boy can run pretty fast, and out in the sticks, where people have livestock (that he would only chase, and not devour), he could easily get shot on a little free spree....
Rose was quite curious about the other side of the field....
...she had a nibble here and there, ran a few laps, and then would rest and watch the cattle across the dirt road...
I would check on Eddie, and he finally just decided to check out how awesomely handsome he was and stared at himself for hours....
Yay! Finally done! Cleaning up my mess from clearing the fenceline and carrying all the trees, limbs, and trash off was honestly the hardest part.... but now look!!!
...after I came back in for the day, I was made to feel guilty by this look...... it was Eddie's "Why did you spend ALL day outside with HER?" look.
You are the hardest worker I know, second only to my Mom! Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt's not really work ..... just time consuming sometimes. Being able to see the animals regularly makes it more fun than work - I know you know this all too well!
