Channing Tatum. Thank you 'Ice Storm 2014' !

******WARNING! This post contains very little farming and no frugal fashion. I have recently discovered Channing Tatum. You have been warned. I am getting it all out of my system with this post...just bear with me - it will all be over soon ;)******

What does one do when the threat of snow and ice is inevitable? Call me Miss Doomsday Preppers, please... First, Christian and I got in a good movie at the theater before we were iced in and trapped at home for DAYS .... (FYI, there is a lot of sarcasm here) .... We went to see 'Wolf of Wall Street'.
I liked it - a lot. I heard some really bad reviews, but I really enjoyed it. When we got out, we went to the farm and checked on the babies before the big storm. Everyone was warm, sheltered, and fed and Lauren (who actually lives on the farmland) offered to feed them the next few days if I couldn't make it out.

When we got home, the weather still wasn't really doing anything impressive. No snow accumulation, no ice, nothing threatening, really. The news kept saying that power outages across the area were almost guaranteed, and that it would likely be days before the power company could get it all restored. I went into survival mode! (again, more sarcasm) I did all the laundry. Cleaned the house. Vacuumed and did anything and everything that would require power. Then, I kind of secretly wanted the power to go out for days. We have a gas stove, so we could get warm and cook with that. Water heater is also gas, so we could take hot showers and baths. I have a Chemex coffee maker, which doesn't use power, just add boiling water and coffee. Now. We. Wait....and while we waited, and waited, and waited, I had nothing else to really do except get lost in movies....
well, well, well.... a movie that I absolutely REFUSED to see, REFUSED to watch any preview, and didn't even want to HEAR about was on. Directed by Steven Soderbergh. Alllllllll about male strippers. Yep. You guessed it. 'Magic Mike'. I watched it. I developed a new crush. Channing Tatum.....wow. Thank you so much, snow day without the snow!!! You rule!
As all my good friends know, I have very strange crush types. I really don't have a 'type' actually. I mean, on my list have been big boys like 'The Rock', and Vin Diesel, and then I have more normal sized guys like Christian Bale, Ewan McGregor, Tom Hardy, and Ryan Gosling... also, when I get a new crush BF, I then have to watch all their movies.... so bring on the Tatum!
Upon further research ;) I am gathering that this beautiful specimen isn't as shallow as I had previously thought... hmm.. at first glance he appears to be your run of the mill frat boy type that just got lucky in Hollywood. If you are at all interested, you should read up on him! I did, and now I'm hooked....
Next movie: '21 Jump Street' - ahhhh, yes..... then, we started to watch 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'. What?!?!? He gets killed off in the first 10 minutes, so I didn't get any further on that one...
....then we watched 'Haywire', which is another Soderbergh one - and this one's main star is the one and only Gina Carano. How cool!?!? Action packed with some badass fight scenes. Good stuff.... and Channing almost makes it to the end without dying.

..so... there you have it. This is what I did to prepare for the snow....
