Precocious Udders .... What?!?!

It is July and man, has it been HOT!?! Last July I had the rare experience of the meningeal worm with Milly, and I am still dealing with the aftermath of that, but every day is proving to be healing. Having to deal with that though, in my very first year of this kind of stuff, wasn't easy! This year - only my second year farming, I noticed that Ellen seemed to have a rather large udder...unusually large for a yearling that has never been bred....I started to worry that maybe something happened with a deer??? I am still learning about all this stuff, so I called out the vet. He said that she was fine and NOT going to have some deer-goat baby, just that she had what is called a precocious udder... she had come into milk without ever being bred and that when I do breed her, she should be my best milker! Wow! So here is my lil' Ellen and her precocious udder:
As far as everything else on the 'acre', we have teeny, tiny, baby peaches.....

The okra is still going strong!
 Purple Bell Peppers....
 Banana Peppers...
 Lots of green tomatoes...
 .....and red ones....

The chickens are all dealing with the heat pretty good - staying in the shade and close to the water...

I keep catching the leghorn napping. It is the funniest thing - she is the only one that seems to not care whether I am in the field or not when she naps! The others are always busy foraging for bugs or just taking dust baths...

 Swirls, the farm kitty!

Can you tell that Baby loves going to the farm???
