Playful Mornings & Thriving Plants....

Every night when I close up the 'acre', I think to myself how I should get a solar powered light for the barn so that the goats don't have to be in total darkness. Well, yesterday I did just that. I bought a couple of solar lanterns and set them out to collect power and tested them out last night. They are AWESOME! The goats were so much calmer than usual when going into the barn for the night. I will take some pictures tonight and put them up later.
This morning when I let everybody out, it was playtime galore! Eli was in an extra good mood and the Misty, Milly, and Ellen couldn't get enough of the goat ramp. Ellie always goes for the dew covered grass and keeps to herself first thing in the morning - I think she enjoys the peace when Ellen isn't right at her side...
The garden is so exciting for me - I am still amazed that I have grown such a beautiful little garden - AND ALL FROM SEEDS!! I have yet to use any chemicals at all - just bone meal and bloodmeal and compost. The strawberries have the most delicious flavor and they usually don't last more than a minute after being picked....
There is a toad that lives in the bed with the purple bell peppers and everytime I water them, he hops out.
The cucumber plants all have the prettiest yellow blooms and I can't wait for them to start producing.....
The potatoes are ready for another layer of dirt and seem to be doing pretty well so far.
The squash and zuchinni are also blooming!
This evening Emmet from Falling Creek Farms is delivering some of his delicious grassfed beef to the farm - we can't wait! I have already made the most amazing burgers from this beef and just can't seem to get enough.....
