goodbye, my beautiful Bonnie...

a week ago, I took the pic below just before I cracked open a pumpkin that a neighbor gifted to the goats... There is my crew one week ago... (L to R) Ellen, Ellie, Bonnie, & Eli.

My heart was healing from the loss of Misty, and things seemed like they were falling into place for a smooth transition to Spring. Little did I know, my world was about to get flipped upside down again, an emotional roller coaster of another round of highs and lows, and ultimately the loss of another farm family member... Bonnie.

Sadly she was humanely euthanized yesterday morning. Her rumen was not working properly, and her body temperature plummeted the night before.... she aspirated the contents of her rumen, and there was nothing left to do .... Read her rescue story here.

This morning she was buried next to Misty. The "E" crew seemed to know what had happened to their friend and seemed a little sad. I am looking forward to the sunny days ahead to dote on everyone a little more than I have been able to the last week....

In remembrance of my sweet Bonnie, here are some of my favorite photos of her. My heart aches, but is also so full with the outpour of encouragement for Bonnie I saw over the last 5 days. Truly beautiful world we live in.....
