We have been watching Twin Peaks again, mostly because I started watching the new season last year and then fell short of finishing..... So to get geared back up and in full-on Twin Peaks mode, we decided to watch them all, as they came out - a few episodes each week. It is crazy how big of a difference it makes seeing all the old episodes in HD.... I last watched all these on VHS on a tube tv last - over a decade ago - ha! Anyway, I am obsessed with this print at the moment and even bought paint for the new workshop in similar colors because I think I may get this for one of the walls out there......
Hand-painted floors with a chevron print.... I am attempting to do this currently. Like most things I decide to take on as a challenge, before I am even at the halfway mark (and honestly I am not even a quarter of the way through), I wonder if I have gotten in over my head. We shall see how this turns out, but considering I started planning this idea, a week and a half ago, and actually started the painting, annnnnnd the fact that I am not even close to being anywhere near done, already seriously not having that much fun with it right now, but I always finish what I start, hopefully by the end of the month I will have some very cool photos to share of my hand painted chevron floor, and I will love it SO MUCH that I will forget how hard it was, and plan another one...... Ha!! (note: poster print above and picture below can be used for the same post.... hmmmm wonder why I am obsessed with chevron stripes as of late?)
Again more talk about this project I have been working on.... It is to be a workshop, office, den, and place of peace and quiet to work on things outside of the home. Our house is very small. 30' x 30' and it is perfect for us, BUT sometimes we run into us both being home at the same time while both trying to be creative.... and the clashing of energy at those times is sometimes distracting. This will create a place for us to go when one of us needs more head space for creativity...
4. PLAYING IN THE WOODS
Go for a walk through the pines. Go for a sprint in a field. Be wild and free. EVERYDAY.
You are enough. A little less judgement, a lot more grace for ourselves, and that will lead to a little more grace for others.
6. FAVORITE WORDS AT THE MOMENT:
7. TEXT LESS, TALK MORE, BE PRESENT
I have fallen into a bad habit of communicating mostly through texting and messaging. Starting today, I am changing that... Let's meet for coffee or talk on the phone! <3
8. WORDS OF WISDOM: ALLOW HURT TO BREED GROWTH.
I have learned a lot over the last few years. Some things you will never change, no matter how hard you try. Some people will never see your true intent, no matter how hard you give. These moments breed truth, unavoidable hurt and disappointment. Once you get through that and remember the reason you started - most of us want to see each other succeed, and it is easier to be on the team of working for the greater good..... Work your butt off. Absorb this beautiful experience even when it hurts. Don't be resentful because it is a waste of time. My dad was plucked from this life in an instant, and that could be any of us, at any time. I want to start letting go of sour feelings a little quicker, because I would be pissed if I spent my last moments here stressing over something that didn't mater in the big picture...or something that ultimately I have zero control over...
9. BOOKS & BATHS (and maybe mimosas and using your horse's shampoo for your own hair)
It is so good for the soul.....
Happy Tuesday, folks!!
