saturday snapshots

Last night I baked the cake - a spice cake, loaded with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves... It is a special request for Glenlee Rose, my friend's daughter... This morning, I whipped up the frosting, and then dusted with a little cacao. No nuts for this one, but I too dislike nuts on or in a soft, fluffy cake...
Viola!
I was able to make the delivery, hop in a photobooth pic, and head back home to start rebuilding the goat's shelter. Irma totally destroyed it, and now there is the threat of more rain. It was drizzling when I left to deliver the cake and the goats were NOT happy!
...my pile of sticks that will soon become shelter! ha!
This completed little section was part of Milly's enclosure. Milly was my little special needs goat that I closed up each night just in case a coyote came around and tried to take advantage of her weakness. I am glad to at least have one good starting point for this new shelter. I also decided to build it in a different part of the field....
When I came in to have homemade from scratch pad thai that Christian made, some Marilyn Monroe film was on.... I have no idea which one...
The goats were out loose all day..... lawnmower is broken (still), so why not?
Eli likes being a guard-goat....
...getting the basic layout together.....
..I still need to get the purlins to go under the tin, but since the storm is approaching, this will at least keep them dry though that. Next weekend, I can focus on the finishing touches...
tada! Finished up just after dark!
Eddie was glad to have me back in. Who's a good boy???  <3

Night y'all!
