Yesterday evening, I took a little stroll through the fields across the dirt road. There is an old homestead site waaaaaaaaay back off the road, and there are piles of bricks and tin from where the old home once stood. It is surrounded by old pecan trees, the greenest grass, and peppered with daffodils.....
Back even further is an old family cemetery with an iron fence all the way around. The tombstones all indicate deaths in the late 1800s - early 1900s. There were children, but most of the adults lived to be in their late 80s and even some into their 90s! Anyway it was a neat little discovery, and I had my phone with me, so I got a few pics....
