Sweet Stuff Sundaaaaaaay!!

I had a dream last night about cinnamon ice cream and chocolate cake.....  when I woke up I knew I wanted chocolate and cinnamon. I just made a chocolate cake not too long ago, so I decided today would be brownies and cinnamon ice cream......

First I preheated the oven to 350....
Then I melted a stick (or half cup) of butter in a saucepan over MED heat.....
After butter was melted I removed the pot from the heat and added 2 eggs, 1 Cup sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla extract and mixed until smooth....
...then added1/3 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder and mix well until smooth... (I cannot find my whisk, so I just used one of the electric mixer wand thing-a-ma-jigs)
then add 1/2 Cup flour (I used my Cup 4 Cup brand GF flour), 1/4 tsp salt, & 1/4 tsp baking powder.
 ....keep mixing.....
 butter  an 8' x 8' pan......
 ...pour in your batter.....
...and bake for 25-30 minutes. I always test with a toothpick. May need a little longer or a little less...
While that was baking, I made an icing for the brownies.... I melted 3-4 tablespoons butter, added a tsp of vanilla extract, 1 heaping Tbsp honey,  3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, and about a cup of confectioners sugar and mix with a fork.... if it seems too dry, add a little softened butter (I had some cream cheese out already and added a little of that to thin out my icing...
Spread on brownies while they are still warm..... and I sprinkled some sea salt on as well!
...for the cinnamon ice cream, I took a really easy route. Christian ran to the store and bought some vanilla gelato and it was so warm today that by the time he got home it was already pretty melted. I poured it into a  bowl, sprinkled cinnamon on generously and stirred.....
....until it was all mixed in jussssssst right.....
..then poured it back in the original container and popped it in the freezer to firm back up!
...then I cleaned up my mess so I won't have to look at it later! Baby was totally shocked at how clean the kitchen was..... ;) Now off to the farm so that I am back in time for the Oscars! Can't wait to eat this chocolate-cinnamon goodness while watching all the red carpet arrivals! Yip Yip!
